I am a bilingual public school teacher. I teach for a selfish reason: I love to learn and to share what I learn. All the same, I could give away or box my belongings to live out of a backpack, have no permanent address and live the life of a nomad with my husband and travel companion, Thollem McDonas. I would trade my classroom of 30 to become an active participant in an even larger classroom with many more than just two languages spoken. I thought of traveling solo but as Life would have it, I met Thollem before I bought the one way plane ticket around the world. He offered a different way to travel: to tour with a musician. ...and so, most of these vignettes are about experiences and offer very little practical travel advice. They are an insider's view of being on the road with a piano composer/performer. While some entries were written while visiting a place (like Mexico City), most reveal places less known to the public at large, or so I've been told. Let me know what you think, or if you would like to have a cup of tea while we're in your area... Enjoy!
