more reviews for room »Star Hotel Monna Lisa is located in the city centre of Florence and offers 45 rooms, all of them stylishly decorated and split between the old palazzo and two newer wings across the garden. It is a small cosy hotel situated in a side street a short walk from the Cathedral. The Monna Lisa, once you have proceeded beyond its unassuming facade, charms with its characterful courtyard with tiled ceiling, winter garden and historic furniture. The historic Florentine building the hotel occupies has been well preserved and enhanced to create a cosy, home-from-home feel. Rooms are located in the original building and in two more recently converted buildings, one at the bottom of the garden and one adjoining the hotel grounds. The bedrooms are atmospheric and vary in size and aspect. This elegant Renaissance Palace is furnished with fine antique furniture, old oil paintings and a number of art treasures. These include the first model of Giambologna's 'Rape of Sabine', drawings and statues by the famous neoclassical sculptor Giovanni Dupre (1817 - 82) the owner's family is descended from. The hotel is an attractive, unusual establishment suitable for a guest who wishes to have a pleasant stay in a delightful atmosphere. Private parking available upon reservation at Euro 20,00 per night.
