Day 4 –

So its 4am and again I’m up – typing away. Someone is making bacon – I can smell it…  Carla, Chris, Jerome and I promised each other last night that we would go to that Cross Fit Gym today at 3pm.  I’m going with or without anyone but I’m sure we will all make it happen! I’m most looking forward to that today!

Darlen and Ron (Carlos’s brother and his wife) are coming over bringing Chinese Food for lunch. Before that, we are all heading down to the swap meet as soon as it opens at 9am.  The swap meet is the biggest group of vendors selling their wares, I’ve ever seen in one place.  It’s so big they use the stadium to hold everyone. Carla, Jerome and Chris are going to have a Spam Matsubi Breakfast Plate.  Gross.  But they love it. I’m dreaming about my blender at home and my delicious chocolate rice milk, frozen banana, scoop of peanut butter, protein and vegetable powders shake!! Oh well…

Nightlife tonight has been planned for weeks.  Jerome, Carla, Chris, Me, Jonji (Joanne’s daughter) Ronnie and his wife (Ron and Darlens’ son) are all going to Ala Moana – a touristy spot just before Waikiki – for a laid back beach bar with live music.  We all need to nap after Cross Fit cause I’m not going to bed before 10pm tonight!! I wanna dance, and drink and eat some fun foods with friends and new family!!

Tomorrow is the big, tons of family celebration/remembrance day for Jerome’s Grandfather.  It has been 1 year since his passing and Island Culture dictates a remembrance day.  Carlos has booked a hotel ballroom for a lavishly catered buffet lunch with multiple carving stations, ice sculptures and dessert bar after a church service.  Carlos had joked that because of the amazing buffet menu that family he had not seen nor heard about would all be coming to remember Grandfather by eating.  Everyone is in store for meeting Lots O Peoples.  Shortly after that is over Jerome and I are driving west to Makaha for a night away from the rest of the bunch to regroup and spend some “just us” time and then hopefully a beach day on Monday before heading back for I’m sure a meal time of sorts.
