Homeward Bound

A slow start to the morning with us not having to be on a bus to go anywhere early. We got up in time to say goodbye to the travellers that were leaving on the 8:30am transfer to the airport. More goodbye handshakes and hugs all round.

After breakfast, as you can tell, there was a big travel blog session with me catching up on 4 days of outstanding travel activities. I completed the writing of this just in time to jump and the shower and cram everything in my suitcase. I'm proud of myself - didn't even have to use the expansion zip, but boy, my backpack carry-on is way heavy!

Stage 1 complete....

We headed off to the airport early as checkout was 1pm. We couldn't check-in till 3:15pm, so we staked our claim to some comfy chairs in a nearby lounge and sat drinking coffee and reading papers. We moved to the British Airways lounge as soon as we could check-in and relaxed here waiting for our 5pm departure to Heathrow. This was slightly delayed due to a late aircraft, but with a tailwind on-route, we caught up and landed on time. We had an 18min transfer bus rie between terminal 5 and terminal 4, and after a quick transition through security, it was straight into the BA lounge where I am currently writing this blog! Only another hour to wait till the long trip home!
