Who gets kicked out of a restaurant? Oh that's right... we do.

We decided to meet Vanessa and Lauren for a "girl's night" dinner - since every weekend everyone heads out of town in their own directions, we never really got to sit down and enjoy ourselves outside of class.

We all met on the Rialto bridge and headed in to the San Polo district to find a restaurant.

There was a cute restaurant that Jen and Abbey had passed previously, that looked adorable with the daily specials written on brown paper outside.

We headed inside and sat down, and it looked nice - red checker tableclothes, and people who seemed to be enjoying their food.

We liked the 2nd restaurant much better!

We ordered tap water - which is totally commonplace in Vencie - and the waiter/owner/sweatiest man alive made a fuss over it.

Whatever.

Next, we asked him what was good - he recommended some fish pasta and grilled fish.

That sounded good, but we decided we'd rather have the risotto, mussels, and other pastas.

As Abbey went to order the mussels for her and Vanessa to share, the waiter said:

"If you want to order one, one, one, one for each of you, then you go somewhere else."

We looked at each other, totally confused -- how else would we order if not individually, off the menu that he gave us?

We started laughing uncomfortably, unsure if he really just told us to leave.

Annnnnnd, it turns out that he did.

So, totally embarassed and speechless (who gets kicked out of a restaurant for trying to order off the menu?!?!?!) we headed out of the restaurant.

Seriously... what the hell!  We've lived in this town for 4 weeks now and have done perfectly fine with ordering off menus!

So, we of course took a photo outside of the rudest restaurant in the city - I guess the moral of the story is: don't go to Ostaria Sora al Ponte!

We headed off, in search of a nicer restaurant that would actually serve us dinner - a few minutes ahead we found an adorable restaurant with outside seating on a small canal.

And, the best part was, we didn't get asked to leave after ordering...

Success!

The food turned out to be really good... but not nearly as good as the house red wine, which we had two carafes of!

We ended up staying at the restaurant, chatting and catching up until almost 10:30 - at which point it was definately time to go home (and sober up after all that wine!), we had class the next morning at 8:30!

Seriously though... who gets kicked out of a restaurant for ordering off the menu?!
