Lounge Hopping

Our flight to London was only 6hrs, interrupted by an evening and breakfast meal service, so sleep time was limited to about 3rs if you could get it. On arrival at Heathrow we boarded a bus to change terminals and at one stage I said to Joe that we must be nearly halfway to Berlin by the length of time it took. Once at Terminal 5 we headed straight for the British Airways lounge and the showers. Not long after this it was back on the plane to Berlin, where it seems you can take us much carry-on as you like, and those that are stupid enough to get their late have to ride with their bags under the seat in front of them, limiting their foot room in an already somewhat cramped space. Although the flight was only two hours, it felt like much longer. We both said no to a second breakfast and tried to get some sleep.

On arrival in Berlin we had a pre-arranged transfer to our hotel, and before long we were in our room, under the covers and having much needed sleep. At 6pm we met up with our tour director Monica in the lobby and went off to a small meeting room to fill in some required paperwork and introduce ourselves around to the other members of our tour group. After this a buffet dinner was provided, which we enjoyed, before we headed back to our room for more much needed rest.
